What's interesting to me is that I thought there was going to be equal demand for this and the Alpaca integration, but this one is getting a lot of votes, while Alpaca has received none so far!
This feature unlocks a whole new potential for the platform including access to millions of retail and many institutional investors. A lot of the action is happening on the AI trade right now and volatility is highly advantageous to algo trading. IBKR has some of the lowest commission fees and is widely used and recognized globally. With Claude Fable 5, this can probably be built in a day or two. I know someone who did this in a day and is running this in production already.
I agree with how important this integration would be. However, it is not a quick integration—far from it. Maybe for a demo, you could quickly write something in a day or two, but not for production. The amount of testing required, along with the level of detail involved, is significant, especially on the backtesting side. Crypto markets operate 24/7, and that is how I have designed the framework so far. To support stocks, we would need to change the calculations. I can see the demand for this, so I will definitely implement it, but I don't expect it to be quick.
